of cupcakes and birthday kisses

It was Mr Marvel’s birthday yesterday so I baked him red velvet cupcakes since I was too poor to buy him a proper present. He was so happy when he saw the cupcakes. It was the best surprise I could have given him. I got the recipe from the boys at SORTED food. They have the best recipes. Simple and delicious. I obviously added some extra things to tailor it to Mr Marvel’s taste (and also because I just have this compulsion to change recipes it doesn’t matter how exact it is).

I also made him chicken parmigiana with mash potato and curried onions for dinner. I love that I changed his favourite meals. Obviously not pizza since the boy is crazy for pizza. But it’s nice to hear that I make the best mash he has ever had (since I pride myself on my damn mash). Last night he asked me if I knew how to make panna cotta. I do now! I found a recipe for a really simple panna cotta at SORTED. So thank you to the boys at SORTED for their help in making my birthday surprise a success. 

And these cupcakes are divine. I don’t usually eat what I bake nor am I a big fan of cupcakes but I would trade my soul for these cupcakes.
